Privacy Policy
How Recalled handles gameplay data, diagnostics, and third-party services across supported platforms.
Introduction
Recalled is developed and published by HypeRelay Studio. We are committed to handling data responsibly, transparently, and in line with applicable privacy and platform requirements, including Google Play policies.
Information We Collect
- Gameplay data such as progress, scores, settings, and challenge outcomes.
- Technical data such as device model, operating system version, app version, and language/region.
- Diagnostics data such as crash logs, performance data, and error reports.
- Analytics data that helps us understand feature usage and improve reliability.
How We Use Information
- Deliver core gameplay features and save your in-app progression/settings.
- Improve game balancing, usability, and accessibility.
- Monitor stability, diagnose bugs, and prevent abuse or fraud.
Legal Basis and Consent
Depending on your region, we process data based on one or more of the following: providing the requested service, legitimate interests (for app security and improvement), legal obligations, and consent where required.
Analytics, Firebase, and Advertising
We use Google Firebase as our backend platform. Firebase services used in Recalled include:
- Firebase Authentication — used to create anonymous player sessions and to link optional Google Sign-In accounts. When you connect a Google account, your Google display name and email address are associated with your session.
- Cloud Firestore — a cloud database used to store leaderboard entries (display name, score, game type, timestamp, and user ID), global and daily high scores, and daily challenge completion markers.
- Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) — used to understand how users interact with the app and to improve the game experience. This may include information such as app opens, screen views, session activity, onboarding progress, game starts and completions, daily challenge interactions, leaderboard usage, remove-ads modal interactions, and review prompt events. We do not intentionally include usernames, email addresses, display names, or personal text in custom analytics event parameters. Scores are recorded only as broad performance bands, not exact values. Firebase Analytics may use app instance identifiers, device information, and other technical data as part of Google’s analytics and measurement services.
Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google’s data processing terms. Firebase data is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Recalled displays interstitial advertisements through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). When ads are shown, Google may collect device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data to serve and measure advertisements. You can manage ad personalization through your device settings or Google account preferences. For details, see Google’s Advertising Privacy Policy.
In-App Purchases
Recalled offers an optional one-time in-app purchase (“Remove Ads”) that permanently disables interstitial advertisements. All purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. The app does not directly collect or store payment information such as credit card numbers. Your purchase status is recorded in your player profile in Cloud Firestore so it can be restored across devices when you link a Google account.
You can restore previously completed purchases through the Restore Purchases option in the app’s Settings screen. Purchase history and billing are governed by Google Play’s Terms of Service.
Third-Party Services
Recalled may rely on trusted service providers, including:
- Google Play Services
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Analytics
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- Google Play Billing (in-app purchases)
- Crash reporting services
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data with service providers that help us operate Recalled (for example, analytics, crash reporting, and infrastructure), subject to their terms and technical safeguards.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain data only for as long as needed for app operation, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security. You have the following options to delete your data:
- In-App Delete Account: Open the app Settings screen and select Delete Account. This permanently deletes your Firebase Authentication account and all associated Firestore data, including leaderboard scores, player statistics, and daily challenge records. Your local username preference is also cleared. You will continue to use the app as a guest.
- Email Request: You may also request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email address below. We will process your request and confirm deletion within a reasonable time.
Children’s Privacy
Recalled is not directed to children below the minimum age required by applicable law in their region. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children where consent is required and has not been provided. If you believe a child submitted personal data, contact us and we will review and remove data as appropriate.
Data Security
We apply reasonable organizational and technical safeguards to protect data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International Processing
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. When this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards and provider commitments as required by applicable law.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
To delete your account and all associated data, use the Delete Account option in the in-app Settings screen. Alternatively, contact us by email and we will action your request.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or product changes. The latest in-app version is the version in effect unless stated otherwise.
